6/7: Ben Greenman was nice enough to quote me in his blog for The New Yorker.

6/4: Hobart included me in their roundtable discussion about first books.

Is it just me, or does all this self promotion — “tweeting, facebooking, articles in newspapers up to big event-type readings” — feel kind [of], I don’t know, dirty? I have the Facebook page and Twitter feed and I’m hoping that some cool magazines and blogs will interview me, &c. I want people to read the book, I guess, and so it’s up to me to get the word out about it, and I’m totally doing that, yet it feels like self promotion isn’t what I signed up for when I started writing this thing. Are these qualms normal?

The other participants, from whom I learned a great deal, were: Kyle Beachy, Jedediad Berry, Roxanne Gay, Rachel B. Glaser, Julia Holmes, Caitlin Horrocks, Holly Goddard Jones, Tom McAllister, Laura van den Berg, Kevin Wilson, and Mike Young.
